Computing your way through a career

In the last blog, we talked about the foundational aspects of choosing the best college for computer studies. It is imperative for every aspiring student to get the feel of the basic and the advanced level options available to them in their home state colleges. Here we shall help you explore more in the computing course-ware and the specializations that one can pursue.

1. Institution’s Innovation Council: A college having an IIC Cell(established by MHRD’s Innovation Cell) would be rewarding as the primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by encouraging them to work on their ideas, develop prototypes and engage in innovative and entrepreneurial excellence.

2. Artificial intelligence and Robotics: It plays a futuristic role in IT and Robotics industries. AI bots  are designed with IOT and  machine learning technologies .ie smart solutions for industry requirements . Colleges have started developing AI and Robotics Labs to enable students to have a futuristic benefit. 

3. E - Yantra Lab: An excellent initiative by IIT Bombay, E- Yantra Lab aims to create the next generation of embedded systems engineers with a practical outlook to help provide practical solutions to some of the real world problems.

4.  NPTEL Local Chapter: An initiative by MHRD , government of India and IITs to nurture technical education in India thus providing more job opportunities for students of associated colleges (Local Chapter). Students who are in the colleges associated with NPTEL have the benefit of this initiative boosting their technical know-how.

5. CSI Member: A non-profit professional society which facilitates research, knowledge sharing, learning and career enhancement among all categories of IT professionals. As a CSI member, a college can also inspire, nurture and assist students to integrate into the IT community.
