Pathway to a successful future in the field of Art

School of Fine Arts (SOFA) started its journey with a handful of students in the year 1994. SOFA's main aim was to involve students into multidimensional evolution by providing them a favorable atmosphere,where they can learn and grow in each and every aspect of art, by introducing new and contemporary techniques. This was to help them to grow practically and spirituality to become a capable professional artist with skills and knowledge.

 

Now, more than a hundred students study at SOFA. School of Fine Arts offers professional degree courses for both graduation and post graduation in Fine Arts.

  • BFA(  Bachelors of Fine Arts)

  • MFA(Masters of Fine Arts)

 

 

BFA/MFA courses have vast scope to offer to the students. A student can work as an Independent artist and also an Art educator. Even a related career in the field of designing is open for a BFA graduate candidate like Film making, Graphic designing, Digital Painting, Production designing, Animation, Art Direction. Many students who have graduated from SOFA are already doing great work in many of these fields.

Students of SOFA have been continuously performing well in academics and every year many SOFA students mark their places in the University Merit List.

SOFA students have managed to grab 25 gold medals in 25 out of 26 years since the establishment of SOFA.

 

Students are offered opportunities to participate in various exhibitions and Art fairs,held at the college campus as well as at various cities of the country, thereby providing them a wide exposure to the contemporary art world.

 

Some yearly exhibitions:-

 

VAYAM – VAYAM is a platform formed by HOD Mrs. Naveena Ganjoo for the exposure of MFA and pass out students, under which exhibitions are conducted annually across the country. VAYAM has been giving successful  shows since 11 years at various cities like Jaipur, Mumbai, Nagpur, pune, lucknow , Indore etc.

ANNUAL EXHIBITION- The exhibition is organised at the college campus in which students get a chance to showcase the work done by them throughout the year.

STUTI- 10 days exhibition based on Lord Ganesha held during the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

 

Other than the yearly exhibitions several National and International level exhibitions are conducted from time to time inside the campus as initiated by the Director, SOFA, Sculptor and Concept artist Mr. Amit Ganjoo. The objective is to allow the students to observe the artworks of leading artists from all over the globe helping them to expand their artistic vision.

  • Indian-Italian Friendship Exhibition

  • Indian-French Friendship Exhibition

  • Indian-German Friendship Exhibition

…….are some of those International exhibitions.

 

Many International Art Magazines like- Inspirational 29 Art Magazine UK, Tcleb Photo Magazine, Milan, Italy, Wall street International Magazine ,USA etc, have also published details about these exhibitions conducted at SOFA.

 

Along with the Exhibitions, a series of Display and Lectures is also initiated by the Director,Sculptor and concept artist Mr. Amit Ganjoo in which , after displaying an artwork he discusses its philosophical aspects with the students to improve their intellectual capacity.

 

 Mr. Amit Ganjoo sir, Director, SOFA has also created a new form of art- “Emoticon Art” using the emoticons available on the social media, being the first artist in the world to do so, to encourage the art students to explore new mediums and platforms in art. 

 

Because of the continuous efforts and incorporating new techniques in the art education, School of Fine Arts, IPS Academy, Indore has secured the position of being the best Fine Arts college of Central India.
