Program- National
Mathematics Day
The Department of Mathematics has organized a “National
Mathematics Day” on birth anniversary of “Shrinivasan Ramanujan”. He was great
mathematician and discovered many theorems and results. Srinivasa Ramanujan Aiyangar; 22 December 1887 – 26 April
1920) was an Indian mathematician who lived during the British Rule in India. Though he had almost no
formal training in pure mathematics, he made substantial contributions to mathematical
analysis, number theory, infinite series, and continued fractions, including solutions to
mathematical problems then considered unsolvable. During his short life,
Ramanujan independently compiled nearly 3,900 results (mostly identities and equations). Many were completely novel; his original and highly
unconventional results, such as the Ramanujan prime, the Ramanujan
theta function, partition formulae and mock theta functions, have opened entire new areas of
work and inspired a vast amount of further research.
Department
Organized Many activities has shown movie on Ramanujan, Mega Mathematics quiz
and Special guest lecturer on “Numbers and Magic square” by Professor “S.K.Bandi” of IPS
Academy,Indore(M.P.). This was Virtual presentation by the speaker Dr.S.K.
Bandi has explained details his topic in very simple and lucid manner.
Lecture Session was very Interesting and
knowledgeable for everyone and covers
the significance of magic square and nearly 70 students and Faculty Members
attended the lecture. it was followed by Mega mathematics Quiz Competition
among the students.
Many Students Participate in Mega
mathematics Quiz Competition and Winners are
1.Ritik Patidar M.Sc. PC I year
2.Bipasha Rane B.Sc. CS III year
The
program ends with the Vote of thanks to Guest, Chairperson, Faculty Members and
Students.
